Hire Power is operated by TQM Consulting under a Contribution Agreement with Employment and Labour Market Services division of the BC Ministry of Housing and Social Development to provide the EI-funded Targeted Wage Subsidy service in Kamloops and surrounding areas.
The goal of the program is to provide eligible unemployed individuals with new, marketable workplace skills through on-the-job training with a new employer. If you are a job-seeker, please see our "for Job Seekers" page for more information.
Employers who hire such individuals may be eligible to receive reimbursement of a portion of the employee's wages for the first several weeks or months of employment. In order to participate in the program, the unemployed individual must be registered with Hire Power through a referral from an EI-funded Case Management Agency in his/her community. The Case Management Agency will work with the unemployed individual to determine whether or not the Targeted Wage Subsidy Program is the most appropriate intervention for his/her employment or career goals.
